... Good to see Jack's apology. These trades he's hated have produced the following current Pirates: Jeff Karstens, Ross Ohlendorf, Andy LaRoche, Brandon Moss, Charlie Morton and Joel Hanrahan -- not to mention soon-to-be teammate Lastings Milledge and another potential few in the next two seasons. The trades have also allowed the promotions of Andrew McCutcheon, Garett Jones and Jeff Salazar. Bitching about these trades is merely throwing his new teammates under the bus. Stitch it up and exhibit some veteran leadership. Claudete oris. |

... Garrett Jones is batting 3rd? Brandon Moss batting 4th? Jose Vazquez batting 6th? Could tonight's lineup have won this year's College World Series? No. |

... I tried to listen to this one on the radio, however, the radio station that's only 15 miles away doesn't have the strength to get all the way out here on the south side of the county. And yet somehow, here in Iowa I was able to get KDKA loud and clear... I was able to get the 5th inning, where Santo and Hughes talked about how Wilson was upset about the trade. They both thought it didn't make sense that they traded away all their good young talent with "lots of baseball years left". I said out loud, as though they could hear me, "but Lastings Milledge could have even more and better years left than Nyjer and Burnett do" |
