Locke, Alderson, and BIXLER?!?

Jeff Locke was promoted to Double-A Altoona yesterday while Tim Alderson was demoted back down to Bradenton in his place. Locke, like Bryan Morris, has done a great job getting himself back on track this season after a rough go of things in 2009. Alderson has done the opposite, not improving on any of the things people were worried about when we acquired him from San Francisco. I’ll write more about both when my pitching prospects go up tomorrow (the hitting prospects are coming today/tonight).

The Bucs also reaquired Brian Bixler from the Indians yesterday. Normally this move would go unnoticed (see: Jonathan Van Every), but … IT’S BRIAN BIXLER?!?

Finally, Tony Sanchez’s broken jaw will keep him out of the rest of the season. Which sucks a lot. Again, I’m going to finish the hitting prospects up right now, so I’ll talk more about this in those posts.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
