Interleague begins

The Pirates kick interleague play off at home against the 24-31 Royals this weekend, hoping to build on their tear through the NL Central in late May and early June. The pitching lines up nicely for the Bucs (Bedard tonight, McDonald tomorrow, Burnett on Sunday), so I’ll flat out say that I’d like to see the Pirates open interleague play up with a sweep and see where things go from there.

I’ll be out of contact until Sunday morningish. Hopefully the Pirates will be gearing up for a fourth straight win by the time I get back. It’s Bedard and Luke Hochevar tonight and McDonald and Vin Mazzaro tomorrow. Tonight’s game is a 7:05 start, tomorrow is a 7:15 start for FOX. Presumably the Pirates and Royals are on FOX tomorrow because the Bucs can’t move the Boyz II Men concert scheduled for after the game. I can’t believe I just typed that.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
