One of the unavoidable truths of the 2015 Pirates is this: they need to be better this week than they were last week.

The Reds have cooled off considerably since sweeping the Pirates in the rain-addled series opening sweep in Cincinnati. Devin Mesoraco is having surgery. They’re starting Michael Lorenzen tonight in his second big league start. Jeff Locke starts for the Pirates. Jung Ho Kang is getting the start at third over Josh Harrison. The first pitch is at 7:05.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
