Alex Presley

StatsMinor League SplitsWTM

Presley was a 2006 draft pick that spent four years at various A-level stops (from NY-Penn League in Williamsport to Single-A in Hickory and then High-A in Lynchburg for two years) without doing anything to distinguish himself at all, then suddenly started crushing the ball out of the blue in Altoona this year (he hit .350/.399/.533 there) and earning a promotion to Indy, where he’s still hitting fairly well in his first 18 games there. He’s not a big guy (just 5’9″), but it’s hard to ignore his sudden emergence. As a lefty, he’s always hit righties fairly well (.799 OPS) but struggled with lefties, so he may have a future as a platoon player if he keeps hitting the way he has early this year.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
