A matter of pride

Let’s put this bluntly: losing two in a row to the Astros would be really bad. Charlie Morton needs a bounce-back start after a bad start against the Cardinals over the weekend and the offense needs … something after striking out about a million times last night. The Astros are starting a pretty inexperienced guy named Henry Sosa, who’s 25 and spent most of this year bouncing in between Double and Triple-A in both the Giants and Astros’ systems (he was part of the Jeff Keppinger trade). He seems like the kind of guy that dominates the Pirates.

First pitch tonight is at 8:05. You have my permission to watch it with your hands covering your eyes.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
