Beating the bad ones

I’m going to go more into this in the morning, but the path to the Pirates being a respectable team this year might not be any more complicated than just beating bad baseball teams. That’s easier said than done, of course, particularly if the team in question might be considered a bad baseball team, too, but the point is that if the Pirates are going to do something surprising over the second part of 2012, it’s going to happen because they take two of three against teams like the Twins on a regular basis. It’s going to mean that when they get a James McDonald vs. Liam Hendricks matchup, that they win just about every time.

First pitch tonight is at 7:05.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
