Changes at the Post-Gazette

In case you haven’t seen it yet, Dejan Kovacevic announced on the PBC Blog that he’s going to start a new role with the Post-Gazette in 2011 as a sort of all-purpose sports writer covering all of the city’s teams. He’ll also have an all-sports blog at PG+. He’ll still be covering the Pirates quite a bit, but obviously his focus is going to shift. Colin Dunlap, who’s currently covering WVU football and Duquesne basketball, will become the paper’s primary Pirate beat writer.

DK’s done some incredible work on the Pirate beat, especially when it comes to the team’s Latin American operations and finances, and I’m sorry to see him leave the beat even though I’m excited to see what the new role brings for him. I think it’s a big deal that the PG is taking one of their best sports reporters and creating a new role for him with a huge online component to it and I’m interested to see how it all plays out. Best of luck to DK on the new venture, and to Dunlap on the beat.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
