Game 137: Cubs 9 Pirates 4

I’ve watched a lot of baseball, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything quite like the first inning of today’s game. The Cubs hit two balls squarely, and somehow started the game with eight straight hits and seven runs. I’m honestly not exaggerating at all when I say that of the eight hits the Cubs opened the game up with, six of them could’ve been ground outs or pop outs if they were hit maybe a foot or two in one direction or another. It was really kind of insane to watch happen.

As for the rest of the game … yeah, I started watching Super Bowl DVDs and working on the family football letter. We scored some runs, they scored some runs, none of it mattered with a seven run head start.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
