The Funky Series

I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but the 1977 Pirates nominally managed by me have qualified for Play That Funky Baseball‘s pseudo World Series against the great Rany Jazayerli‘s Royals. Unfortunately, we dropped the first two games at Three Rivers with the Candy Man and Jim Rooker on the mound and now have to hit the road to make up the deficit in Kansas City where Bruce Kison (starting him over Jerry Reuss is my biggest managerial decision of the Series, most likely) takes the hill.

Anyways, if you should go over and check things out for the Series even if you’re not a regular reader; the Pirates are playing meaningful baseball and Jeff’s crazy world created around a strat-playing-schizophrenic is always an awesome read. If you’re really interested in the results, the play by play for each game is tweeted nightly at 10:30 PM ET from the Play that Funky Baseball twitter account

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
