Game 150: Pirates 6 Dodgers 2

It could be because it’s late and I’m awfully tired, but it appears that the Pirates just won a baseball game because Ross Ohlendorf both pitched well and hit a three-run home run.

Aaaand yep, this actually happened. There’s not actually all that much to take from this win. The Pirates did manage to score some runs against Dana Eveland tonight, but 75% of them came on Ohlendorf’s home run. Ohlendorf made a pretty strong start, but it was against a Dodger lineup full of players that i’ve never, ever heard of before.

On the flip side, hey, the Pirates just recorded their 68th win, and they’ve only done that one other time since 20052007 . Seriously. Since 2005, this year and 2007 are the only two in which the Pirates have won more than 67 games. That is … something.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
