Lose three games, then advance directly to Miller Park. Gulp

I think that the Pirates will be better than the Brewers this year. I’m not hugely concerned about the Pirates’ 0-3 start. I am still not terribly happy to know that the Pirates are now headed to Milwaukee to play at Miller Park after losing the first three games of 2015, thanks to their recent history there.

I will now attempt to say one nice thing about Miller Park:

At least there probably won’t be any rain delays there this weekend.

The Enduring Mystery That Is Jeff Locke will start tonight for the Pirates. Given that Locke’s approach changed quite a bit from 2013 to 2014, I’m interested to see what he’ll look like tonight, though I’m also a little bit afraid of it. Mike Fiers starts for the Brewers tonight. Mike Fiers is on virtually every single list of sleeper pitchers for the 2015 season, because of the excellent way he pitched in August and September of last year.

There are no significant changes to the Pirate lineup tonight. The first pitch tonight is at 8:10.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
