Francisco Liriano faces the Diamondbacks

Lost in last night’s panic over Gerrit Cole’s poor start is the fact that the Diamondbacks are good at scoring runs. The Pirates have been lately, too, but obviously they didn’t have much success against Jeremy Hellickson. Chase Anderson starts for the Diamondbacks. He hasn’t pitched well lately, with three of his last four starts going five innings or fewer. Hopefully the Pirates will be able to get to him better than then did Hellickson.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
