I have a few thoughts:

  • Yup, I think it’s time to have “that” conversation with Pedro Alvarez. I wonder if the Mets will trade Blake Taylor back for Ike Davis?
  • I really don’t think it’s ideal to look at a pitcher who’s given up four hits in a row and already blown a two-run lead and think, “Hey, maybe he’ll get the fifth guy out” with the game on the line.
  • I know Starling Marte’s absence shortens the bench, but why even take the field if you’re going to send Michael Martinez and Matt Hague to the plate against Aroldis Chapman?
