Game 72: Giants 7 Pirates 6

In summary, the Pirates had a 6-1 lead, blew it, and then lost when they sent John Jaso on a full-count pitch that Gregory Polanco struck out on, despite Jaso barely beating out the double play throw on a slow roller to short that Jordy Mercer nearly beat into second base.

If you can’t win this game, I dunno what baseball games you can win.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
