All’s quiet for now

There doesn't appear to be much happening on the trade deadline front quite yet today, though of course that's always subject to change at a moment's notice. For now, check out Jayson Stark's column from yesterday in which he relays that the Pirates may not be as interested in Alex Rios as people think, and that he's heard that the Pirates have inquired in on Justin Morneau. I'm not sure Morneau is a solid acquisition at this point in time, but this is worth noting if only because it suggests that the Pirates wouldn't be averse to trading for a first baseman and putting Garrett Jones in right field.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
