Game 83: Astros 6 Pirates 2

Every once in a while, you need a reminder that this team is still the Pirates. After a great start in Wrigley Field last week, Brad Lincoln slipped back into the funk that marked his first four career starts. He didn’t strike any one out tonight, he gave up two home runs and a bunch of flyballs, and generally looked over his head the entire game. Let’s hope that’s because he was nervous about pitching at home.

On the flip side the offense made the generally struggling Wandy Rodriguez look like the best lefty in the National League by whiffing ten times against him in seven innings. So much for all the excitement.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
