Brian Friday

StatsWTMMinor League Splits

The old front office was very high on Friday after drafting him in the third round in 2007, but he really hasn’t shown much besides an ability to get on base since then. He’s missed a lot of time with injuries, hasn’t shown a ton of power, and hasn’t seemed to live up to his reputation as an excellent defender at shortstop. I’m just not sure there’s much here to be excited about at this point in time.

July 2010 update: Friday’s quietly having a nice season and between Argenis Diaz and Ronny Cedeno, he might see some playing time before Chase D’Arnaud’s ready. That’s not so much a compliment to Friday, but hey, there you have it.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
