The rain is coming

Doesn’t look like there’s going to be a game tonight, which means the Pirates will have to win just once in Cincy to avoid 100 losses.

I will, of course, update this post if there is a game, but in the event that there’s not, I suppose we can bask in the semi-warm glow of yesterday’s sweep.

UPDATE: They tried to play, got three innings in, and are back in a rain delay. And now we have to hope that they can get two more innings in, because Andy LaRoche hit another double and Lastings Milledge homered to help the Pirates to their 3-0 lead, and I would like those stats to count.

Regardless of whether the game is finished, I have been asked by multiple people to make sure that I point out that Kip Wells gave up a grand slam today. To Chris Carpenter. Honestly, I feel bad for the Kipper at this point.

About Pat Lackey

In 2005, I started a WHYGAVS instead of working on organic chemistry homework. Many years later, I've written about baseball and the Pirates for a number of sites all across the internet, but WHYGAVS is still my home. I still haven't finished that O-Chem homework, though.
