On one hand, I want to point out that the Pirates are paying Kevin Correia and Lyle Overbay more than the Rays are paying Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez. On the other hand, HOLY CRAP THE ANGELS HAVE ACTUALLY FOUND A WAY TO ASSUME A CONTRACT WORSE THAN MATT MORRIS’S CONTRACT.
It is worth noting, though, that at 1.5 WAR, Overbay wasn’t necessarily that much worse than Damon OR Ramirez last year. Correia, of course, was barely replacement level last year, but that’s a different story.
